Bei der Bundestagswahl 2025 erhielt Dr. Alexander Gauland 46.418 Stimmen und sicherte sich souverän das Direktmandat für den Wahlkreis Chemnitz. Zum Vergleich: Oberbürgermeister Schulze wurde 2020 mit lediglich 31.750 Stimmen gewählt – und das erst im zweiten Wahlgang, nachdem er im ersten Durchgang nur 22.241 Stimmen erhalten hatte.
Trotz dieser eindeutigen Zahlen hält es der Oberbürgermeister für „nicht zielführend“, sich mit Dr. Gauland zu treffen. Stattdessen plant er Gespräche ausschließlich mit Nora Seitz (CDU), die mit mageren 21,4 Prozent der Erststimmen deutlich hinter dem AfD-Kandidaten landete und nur über die Landesliste in den Bundestag einzog. Eine „Politik-Novizin“ wird der jahrzehntelangen Erfahrung eines versierten Politikers vorgezogen – ein Armutszeugnis für das demokratische Verständnis im Chemnitzer Rathaus.

Nico Köhler, Vorstandsvorsitzender des AfD Kreisverbandes Chemnitz, bringt die Problematik auf den Punkt:
Im Wahlkampf 2020 präsentierte sich Schulze noch als ‚Bürgermeister für alle Chemnitzer‘. Heute sieht die Realität anders aus. Seine Ausgrenzungspolitik setzt sich fort, wenn er ein Treffen mit Dr. Gauland ablehnt – dem Abgeordneten, den über 46.000 Chemnitzer direkt gewählt haben. Ausgerechnet Schulze, der selbst nur knapp 32.000 Stimmen bei seiner Wahl erhielt, hält diesen Austausch für ’nicht zielführend‘. Das ist demokratisch höchst fragwürdig.
Diese treffende Analyse legt den Finger in die Wunde: Die fast 46.500 Chemnitzer Wähler, die Dr. Gauland ihre Stimme gaben, werden durch die Ausgrenzungspolitik des Oberbürgermeisters faktisch ihrer Vertretung in Berlin beraubt. So sieht die viel beschworene „Demokratie“ im Schulze’schen Sinne aus: Mitsprache nur für jene, die ins ideologische Raster passen.

Bisher war es in Chemnitz gängige Praxis, dass der Oberbürgermeister regelmäßig mit allen Bundestagsabgeordneten der Stadt zusammenkam, um wichtige kommunale Anliegen zu besprechen. Diese bewährte Tradition wird nun von OB Schulze einseitig aufgekündigt – zum Nachteil der Stadt und ihrer Bürger.
Die offizielle Begründung aus dem Rathaus lautet, Dr. Gauland habe sich „bisher auch nicht für Chemnitz eingesetzt“. Eine lebendige Demokratie lebt vom offenen Austausch und der Bereitschaft zum Dialog – auch über Parteigrenzen hinweg. Wenn ein Oberbürgermeister den meistgewählten Bundestagsabgeordneten seiner Stadt bewusst ausschließt, untergräbt er nicht nur demokratische Grundprinzipien, sondern verweigert auch tausenden Bürgern ihre legitime Vertretung.
Die Chemnitzer haben es verdient, dass ihre gewählten Vertreter auf allen Ebenen konstruktiv zusammenarbeiten. Nico Köhler gibt den Bürgern Hoffnung:
Zum Glück haben die Chemnitzer in zwei Jahren wieder die Wahl. Dann können sie hoffentlich einen Bürgermeister wählen, der sich über sein Parteibuch hinweg wirklich für alle Chemnitzer einsetzt.
Die aktuelle Ausgrenzungspolitik des Oberbürgermeisters ist ein Offenbarungseid für sein Demokratieverständnis und sollte den Wählern bei der nächsten Wahl in Erinnerung bleiben.
